The Continuum of Care

The intervention is not enough! After years of performing interventions, Norm Boshoff has learned that a quality intervention involves a five-step process. Eliminating any of these steps greatly reduces the chances getting your loved one sober.
- Prevention and education is offered to the family and other close relationships who commit to helping the loved one start their journey toward treatment and recovery. This includes phone consultations, helpful materials as well as a half-day session in person with the family.
- The Intervention includes the family and the addicted loved one where he hears statements of love as well as their concerns for his welfare.
- A full assessment better qualifies the addict for a specific course of treatment. This usually involves a general clarification of any dual addictions or a dual diagnosis situation.
- Norm recommends an appropriate residential treatment facility where the addict’s needs are matched with a quality program. He accompanies the addict to the treatment center whenever possible.
- Beyond the formal treatment, Norm offers a continuing care
program where he monitors the progress of the recovering loved one
and their family. This stage is where many people stray from their
developing recovery program. Norm’s continued involvement better
assures a quality start on their lifetime of recovery and freedom
from the insanity.
